About

Welcome! I’m John Kha, a visual artist and creative producer based in Sydney, Australia. My practice blends traditional and digital mediums to create immersive experiences and stories that spark curiosity and engagement.

What I do
I work across photography, video, audio, painting, and illustration, weaving together disciplines to explore themes of:

  • The shared experiences, joys, challenges, and realities of being human
  • The world around us with a focus on natural landscapes and wildlife (birds in particular)
  • Conservation and the relationship between humans and nature

My work has appeared in diverse spaces – digital and print publications, galleries, commercial campaigns, competitions, and film festivals.

I collaborate across sectors, from creatives and businesses to non-profits and government – using art as a tool to engage audiences and to create an impact.

My approach
My creativity thrives at intersections – between art and science, tradition and technology, personal reflection and collective action. I’m always curiously observing, listening, learning and facilitating. I experiment with style and medium, from documentary photography to gouache painting, from wildlife filmmaking to digital illustration.

Beyond the studio
On weekends, you’ll find me enjoying a cup of coffee, running outdoors and pleading not to be swooped by Australian Magpies.

If you’re interested in getting in touch, I can be contacted on social media or using the contact form.

John
