Paintings & Illustrations

Some paintings and illustrations completed over the years in watercolor, gouache, acrylic, pencil & ink.

I really enjoy watching other artists at work as their vision takes shape. I’ve shared some of my art videos throughout this page too at various stages of creation.

Pied Currawong, 2023 | Charcoal soft pastels, calligraphy ink and ink pen
Female Superb Fairywren, 2021 | Digital illustration with pastels
New Beginnings, 2020 | Acrylic on canvas

“A few weeks ago while on a scooter ride, we noticed someone resting peacefully against a tree in the distance. Their silhouette was blended into the colours of Autumn while they appeared to be completely present, enjoying the sun and the company of trees. I finished this acrylic painting last night and titled it ‘New Beginnings’, inspired by this memory and our experiences during this pandemic” (20 May 2020)

Regency Cafe (ART VIDEO)

When we visited London for the first time in 2014, we fell in love with the local cafe close to where we stayed. The Regency Cafe is an art deco style cafe in Regency Street, London with an old fashioned charm, plaid red curtains and vintage photo frames line the walls. The lady that served the counter also had the incredible ability to project her voice like a megaphone!

When we left the cafe for the third time that week, I snapped a photo from the outside knowing I had to paint this cafe one day to cement this special memory. This painting is done gouache and watercolour pencils for details. I nearly threw the painting out mid-way through, though I’m glad I persisted.

I adore the backing music, I could listen to it all day (Music credit: Moonlight Reprise from Kai Engel and is licensed under an Attribution-Non Commercial 3.0 International License)
